Black Lives Matter.
The recent murder of George Floyd and other ongoing acts of violence against Black people by law enforcement across the United States have shaken and impacted our community of students, volunteers, and staff. Fox Valley Literacy stands with the Black community in opposing injustice and calling for an end to racism and police violence.

Fox Valley Literacy works to empower our community. We cannot do that without also standing for justice and safety. We envision a community where everyone's voice is heard, honored and respected. No voices should be silenced and no breaths should ever be cut off.

Learning and growth sometimes require us to become uncomfortable and to challenge our assumptions and beliefs. We firmly believe that as an educational institution, it is our responsibility to accurately and compassionately engage with the history of racism and violence in the United States.

Here are some resources to contextualize and understand this moment in history.
